We met up with Philip and Ann from Majika in Milford Haven aboard their 37 foot Privilege catamaran. We expected to produce a 15 minute video about their UK circumnavigation but instead found that Philip had refined the boat so much and had so many good ideas that we ended up shooting all afternoon and produced this 68 minute video.

So please sit back and watch Majika - The movie, we hope you enjoy it.

Before I watch all 68 minutes can you tell me if there are any shots of the Muckle Flugga light from the north, or the St Kilda group from the west as these are the outer markers for a round Britain sail?

The first part is an interview of their experiences - the main part of it is a long hints and tips section that I think most would learn something from.

So the only filming done was in Milford Haven.

Well, I watched it and I'm glad I took the time. I don't think that Muckle Flugga, St. Kilda or N. Ireland were rounded, so not really "rounding UK", but they did at least visit Orkney, so they got a bit closer than those who scuttle through the Caley Canal! It's always interesting to hear others' impressions of areas you are familiar with, and most of their memorable experiences were, hardly surprisingly, in Scotland.

The tour of the boat was excellent, with a number of clever ideas developed, and the sheer space a revelation to those of us whose experience is limited to monohulls. And the systems: twin engines, dishwasher, washing machine, water maker, fuel storage, water and fuel filtration, projection video(!) and the generator, inverters and battery bank needed to drive it all! Given the complexity, I was impressed with just how few breakdowns they've experienced.

It certainly makes you think of ideas for spending a lottery win...

Thank you.
I enjoyed editing this one because there were so many tips to pass on - I hope everyone could learn something from it - I did.

The main adventures they had were in Scotland - spot on!

Hi Paul, I'm cruising at the moment, and even the 120mb or so of the smaller version are a tad too much for my mobile connection.
But I bookmarked it and will have a look in a week, when I'll be back home with a decent line.
Did your St.Francis already set sails, in the meantime?
When will we see you around the Med?

I see.
She'll surely be an outstanding cruising machine at the end.
Fair winds for January!
