Mainship Trawlers - opinions

A good friend is very interested in the Mainship Trawler 34

She seems very good value... does anyone have any experience of this manufacturer and boat?

(p.s. it isn't me, honest... I'd prefer something much slower and more suited to locks)

I had a look at one at the boat show, very impressed although like you too fast for me!

Not top of the range in the trawler market but worth considering and is as you say well priced. If I wanted plastic this would be on or near the top of my list.

They are very popular in the States so I'm reliably informed.

... I should have mentioned that he is a raggie, but his SWMBO was most impressed by the interior (fickle creature) and lack of worry about controlling the boat if he goes MOB (is that fickle or sensible?). Does anyone know about build quality and handling... their aim is retirement and Hamble to Med type trips, without MOB or anything breaking off.

Looked over them at the show and thought they were a lot of boat for the money. Obviously built to a budget but seemed good where it matters. I was really quite taken...
