Is there a website out there that can give the mainsail dimensions for a Westerly Discus. I had the measurements on the old computer but that's now defunct. Just wondering if the info was out there in the ether? Not having much luck via google. Does anyone have a list ?

What about the Westerly Owners Association ?

I'd be surprised if reputable sailmakers don't have the dimensions on file, they do for my much rarer boat.

If in the slightest doubt about such an important purchase though, I'd measure the old one !

Standard for a Discus is P- 36' E- 13.5' If you need any more info let me know. I have the full sail deign in the computer. Regards. Chris Davison. www.ullmansails.co.uk

Thanks Chris- reason I asked was to see if the sail was the same size as the one for a Westerly Vulcan as I thought they shared the same rig. Don't know if that is what you have on file?

Possibly not the same rig.

I would agree that you would need to measure. The Rig Data we hold is not infallible and changes were made to all these production boats along the way. I have made a lot of sails for westerly's and sadlers and i still like to check the rig data as things were not always as they seem. What is it you are trying to acheive?

Just seeing if a secondhand Vulcan maisail would fit up our mast - I guess not! We were quoted for a new mainsail and I'm still giving my wallet CPR - I think it may be a gonner!!!!
