The clear plastic sliding main hatch has developed a crack across one corner and will need replacement at some time.
Are there different grades of Perspex/Acrylic sheet or will any 10 mm available on-line do? Tinted seems to be twice the price of clear.
Further complication is that the long sides are machined taking out a roughly 20x3mm rebate where it lies on the surround. Any machining advice?
A slight redesign would be in order too as the crack is caused by the arrangement of the teak handle along the rear edge, this stiffens the back edge but as the timber stops 20 mm short of the edge bearing that point is put under extreme stress if anyone stands on the hatch. Sorry, none of my pics seem to show the detail.

My Fulmar ,being the first one, had a curved perspex hatch wich developed a nasty crack.I made a replacement but the curve was uneven so in the end I used the old one as a mould and made a solid fiberglass one. It's painted white so the loss of light isn't serious and it's much stronger. And it was really cheap to make.
