RCC sent a couple of boats attend the annual cruise organised by the upper Medway boating clubs.
Only , managed to actually accompany the flottila from Allington to Maidstone .
Neap tides ensured we had to whizz up past the Maidstone fleet as it made its way its way down to their boundary at the Hawkestone , in order for us to have water under Aylesford bridge and get into the lock before the tide turned.
Decamped from our boats in Maidstone Town centre. and continued up by train to the buffet and reception at Wateringbury. The town centre renovation works with extra mooring rings appears to be finally finished.
For any one interested a flybridge Princess 35 and flybridge Princess 33 will go under both Maidstone bridges.
Had good natter about CaRT and EA with the ever helpful lockstaff.
Those on the Thames will be delighted to know I have been reliably informed that East Farleigh lock should be OK for the next 75 years or so.
