I know that this is a very long shot but I'm trying to make contact with an old friend called Terry Bailey.
A mutual friend tells me that he used to work on boats in the Maidenhead area about 25-30 years ago! Yeah i know a real long shot! Anyway he was ex Royal Navy engineer and so is why he was working on boats etc I would think! He would be now about 59 /60 years old!
Can anyone recall or know a Terry Bailey that worked in and around the boat yards on the Thames at all please?

TIA !

I bet the OP is a genuine person and wants to meet up with an old messmate for a beer and natter, BUT it is really daft to plaster someone's work address and phone number on this forum and over the internet, without their permission.

Suppose (and I am not suggesting it for a moment :) ) that the OP is a stalker or has a score to settle. Could be a breach of #8 of the Data Protection Act principles as well. Who then carries the can ?

The info could, and should, have been sent by PM.

And supposing Terry Bailey does not want his phone number plastered all over the forum ? Or his family didn't want it ?

How would you feel if I put your name and contact details here ?

It is insensitive at the least to have done so; I'll leave it to you to decide if it's the action of someone who is thick as well. I am not arguing with you; I am just saying you are wrong.

I appreciate your sentiment, but googling 'Terry Bailey Bray' which isn't hard, shows it all up lots of times.

On the basis Terrys details are on Google with an audience of around five billion people, I'm sure another 100 people won't make any difference at all.

I suspect the original poster wasn't thinking straight when he didn't do that in the first place :encouragement:
