Fecamp is a long crossing at this time of year. If the wind stays in the North you should have a comfortable trip but if it is still in the North for your return trip, it will be a head sea and I would suggest you do not set out in anything more than a F3-4 at most. If the wind turns to the East or West, make sure the tide is running with the wind not against it. Be prepared to be stuck in Fecamp if the weather is not favourable
For some unknown reason, Fecamp suffers from swell in the outer marina on occasions. Put plenty of fenders out!

Have never been asked for them but take boat registration, VAT certificate, VHF licence + certificate, insurance cert + anything else which seems relevant such as ICC, flares, lifejackets, or any other qualification.
Have a good time.

I believe standard advice is just to speak to them in English but a little bit slower and a lot louder. They really like it, you shouldn't have any problem!

Yes with lots of "bonjours, merci's" and "please speak English", especially if spoken in mock 'allo 'allo type French accent. They really like that and laugh lots and lots (or beaucoup, beacoup) and will be your friend for life.

Do let us know how it went, Mark.

Journey out, journey back, and how much Benedictine you brought back from the Fecamp monastry!

Did you poke your nose into delightful St Valerie-en-caux (or en-croute as my children say?).
