Beware the free charts with YM and ST. You'll see a small 'not for navigation' disclaimer somewhere - and you better believe it.
Just before Xmas I went out on a night sail with Rogerroger, from Port Solent. After a pause at Haslar to plan the return pilotage based on the ST chart (and a couple of Guinesses) we headed up to the Port Solent Channel looking for a fixed red to mark the beginning of the channel. What we found as a flashing red. And so it went on. Every other light was wrongly described.
