Anyone out there linked a magellan 315/320 to a yeoman plotter?
If so did it work and which wires attached to which pins on the power/data cable?
All other help on this topic welcome.
Thanks in advance

I use a Yeoman and have done for many years. I used to have a magellan 1200xl on a previous boat ( A nice bit of kit IMHO) when i bought my current boat, I took my yeoman with me but the magellan sadly went with it. to cut a long story short I bought a Garmin and ended up in the same predicament as you and I contacted yeoman who faxed the interface drawing to me. Give them a ring and you'll find them very helpful indeed.

Regards.

I've had a quick look for you. The GPS is seriously obsolete kit, and there's not a lot of information out there. The owner's manual doesn't provide wiring information, but I found a hobbyist site saying that the NMEA ground is black, the NMEA out is orange, and the NMEA in is yellow. Thus you should make the following connections:

Yeoman black -> Magellan black (and 12v -ve as well)
Yeoman blue -> connect to above wires as well
Yeoman white -> Magellan orange
Yeoman green -> Magellan yellow
Yeoman red -> 12v +ve

(Plus apply power to the GPS via its cigarette lighter connection, preferably chopped off and hard-wired.)

This is assuming you have the Magellan interface cable with its special contact shoe. If you don't, it will probably prove easier to get a different GPS than to find one...
