magellan 310 gps won\'t ezi-start

My ancient Magellan 310 lost it's bearings by having flat batteries in in for too long. After rectifying that and doing the 'ezi-start' re-boot, it still doesn't find out where it is.
I recall that there was a different and more fundamental re-boot for it, but I've lost my notes of how to do that, and haven't found it on-line.

Does anyone of the team recall how to do a fundamental (name??) re-boot for this model? before I consign it to the museum.
Thanks.

Switch it off. Then press the right arrow and while holding that switch it on. It will ask if you want to clear everything - I can't remember the exact wording. It should then work fine. I think it is the right arrow - it is one of the arrows, so if the right one is wrong, if you see what I mean, try the others.

I threw one of these away for exactly that reason, however I was since advised that you have to leave it on for 24 hours to learn where all the new satellites are. I have no idea if this is true, but maybe worth trying.

No that's not true. It may take ten minutes to lock on initially but will normally lock in in less than a minute. If it won't then follow the procedure I detailed above and it should work.

Thanks Pete, you do know.
I tried doing the 'right' and 'power' simultaneously, but that didn't work as anticipated, then, reading your instruction carefully, it worked. Wiped off the old memory and landmarks, then took about 5 minutes to find enough satellites to find itself. Checked it with the E-trex; confirmation, so now I can learn to trust Ferdinand again.
Thanks Pete.
Thanks also guys for the manual, and for the suggestion about the internal battery, however I don't think that should be a user-changeable item - well, not with my level of skill and it seems too sealed to tamper with.

Thanks team
