Morning all,
Whilst out at the weekend I noticed the batteries not charging and the volt gauge down at about 11v with the engine running. When we found a calm place to stop I found the cable crimp had failed on the alternator cable that runs to the batteries (on the alternator output). All sorted with stripping cable and bolting it onto the alternator to get us back home.
I'm heading back down to the boat after work today to fix it properly and want to get some cable crimps on my way but don't know what size to get, does anyone know the cable thickness? It's pretty chunky, the crimps i have are only 5mm and 6mm, think i'll need to get bigger.
It's a mercruiser 5.0 V8 mag350.
Cheers.
