Madness?

In theory.

I've done a few things in my life that should have caused me to become richer. None of them worked.

I gave up smoking because I worked out that I could afford to do another rally (strictly club level) a month if I did. Nope
I’ve had a few of those but the smoking one worked. I gave up on New Years Eve at the millennium and started putting what I had been spending on the, about a fiver a day, in a jar. Periodically I used it to buy something nice. Initially it was a CD player, headphones, a smartphone ( bought an Ericsson R5220M I still have) and the I decided to use it to buy shares. Mostly safe bets but a few odd ones ( I bought Apple at 33c in 2001) and the6 became the backbone of my investments today. Haven’t smoked a single cigarette in that time.
Oh, and the irony was my best performing stock was British American Tobacco for a long time.

Brilliant Thistle - keep using the Laser - Very Good Luck - Good thing about the Laser is that they haven't messed up the design much - basically the same as 1971 - clubs sailing them are everywhere - and an old one can still be as competitive as a newer one - it's all in the skill of the helm.
