Recently had to replace fuel filler hose. It enters tank at top of rear wall, not on top.
Had to fabricate grp adapter to fit hose.
Should have then THOROUGHLY tested everything.
Due to added length of adapter, new 51mm hose now interferes with stearing quadrant!!!
Grrrrr
As I used CT1 to bond adapter to stainless tank, I now can't remove my masterpiece.
Question:
If apply heat with hot air gun, will it soften both the epoxy GRP sleeve AND the CT1?
There's no doubt a moral to this, bit please dont enlighten me:)

I don't think GRP will soften under heat, but it certainly will burn - the question really is whether the glue will soften before the GRP degrades too much? If you fabricated the GRP yourself, do you have enough materials left over to make up a small test harness? Make a small rectangle of GRP and stick something to it with CT1 - then try warming it up with the hot air gun and see how much damage you do to the GRP before the CT1 releases.

How accessible is the joint. If you have enough length on the fuel pipe you could cut it off, then slice the pipe length ways carefully and using screwdriver or similar, peel off the pipe leaving the ct1 on the stub which you can then attack with solvents etc or just slice away at it until the stub is clear. Then i guess you need to modify the stub to miss the steering quadrant.

I don't know that I understand the situation but why not cut the CT1 (what's that?) with a multi-tool? There's all sorts of blades you can attach and most blades are serrated (saw type) and they vibrate to cut.
(They are a very useful tool to have on the shelf)
