I have discovered that "MAB" actually stands for "Megaspeedy Allconquering Boat" having been out in para's boat from Gosport, leaving five minutes after a certain beneteau departed and arriving in Cowes 10-15 minutes ahead.

It seems that the Beneteau was trying to perfect a method of sailing backwards, attempting to find the "groove" or "slot", or looking for Tome, or a hundred other excuses.

Actually, i helmed on para's this time (with massive victory) and on the benny another time (with similar victory) So, partial smugness from me, ahem, but doubtless the boat with nice characterful yellow sails in need of replacement, instead of cheaty barand spaniking new sails and expert assistance of JohnM.

Only slight disappointment was on the day before on Friday when we went out and the windex showed 55 knots and we packed it in which is fair enough i spose, altho i was all for making a cup of tea and carying on as the boat seeemed fine and making 5-6 knots easily although rather flat on it's side. Of course, jimi had wimped out an hour earlier. Oops, i wasn't going to mention who it was....
