Hi everyone,

I know this isn't a boat related post, but it's a chance to let fellow forumites know of something that's going to take place on the M4 tomorrow.

Work just contacted me to let me know that there will be a fuel protest drive along the M4 tomorrow morning. It's heading from Pont Abraham and heading to the Severn Bridge for about 11:00 before turning and returning. If you've got a meeting or important personal or professional appointment, please bear it in mind.

We've been busy in the Fire and Rescue Service in South Wales this weekend, so please be careful if you venture out in this weather.

Take care all,

Lizzy D

Thanks for the warning, I'm off work tomorrow so might join in the protest /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would like to join the protest but cant afford the fuel /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

And the last time the protest did what? If I thought for one moment it would make a difference I'd take the day off and join you but it is global not local.

Oh blimey! I'm not part of the protest! It's the truckers. We've been warned as have all of the emergency services, so that if we have to respond to a call somewhere, we might want to think about a different route other than a motorway. I was just using my inside information to warn other forumites of the potential for delays.

You're right, the last protests didn't achieve much. As if we need this to let the government knkw we're unhappy. I think the last round of local elections and the by election at Crewe / Nantwich has sent a message loud and clear. So I'm expecting everything to be better any........second........now!

Take care all,

Lizzy D (working from home today - as you can see!)

Fed up of it,road Diesel is 12p a litre more than unleaded now, when i bought my Diesel car a few years back it was the other way round.

lots more diesel cars about now, ever felt conned?
we have just traded ina diesel Peugeot for a petrol Fiat
Yea I know, Fix It Again Tony, but it does 44mpg and looks dead cute.
SWMBO drives it!

Swmbo made me buy a Lotus.......Bummer.. but my criteria was is must be quick and hers was it must be good on fuel......good Swmbo! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Edit- then she went and bought her self a Audi Quattro for work!

My Diesel Clio was for work,i used to average 1000 miles a week, when it broke down and Renault Cardiff lent me a spare petrol 1200 clio i didnt notice any differance in fuel consumption,in fact the petrol one was better, the Diesel was 3 grand more expensive to buy, ever felt conned, now it sits outside the house and i cycle to work mostly.

We've recently swapped swmbo's diesel X3 for a petrol A4 Cabrio, the A4's more economical than the X3 ever was so consequently it's a damn sight cheaper to run.

Sadly that meant I had to have the 4x4 now to tow the boat, so off went my M3, ending 15 years of fast cars to be replaced with an old Range Rover /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Mind you, that's an exercise in fossil fuel reduction given that I do 20k+ miles a year /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The boat cost me my VX220 last year, so I'm all fast car'd out now /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It was yes. Took us to Monaco, south of france, italy and several race tracks. Fun little toy and no one knew what they were. Someone in Monaco asked us if it was a new Ferrari, I fell about laughing.
