but one of the posters on LY says this
Yacht on the rocks, Cap Ferat - between Nice, France and Monaco. The yacht’s name is M/Y PARI. She apparently went up on the rock after dragging her anchor in the evening. A very sad sight, indeed to see as yacht which has run aground in the way! This is in a very similar position that the huge sloop MIRABELLA V dragged her anchors and ran aground, although she didnt get washed up onto the rocks in this manner.

I don't recognise that rocky outcrop, having anchored off Cap Ferrat a fair few times, but I may just not have spotted it. JFM will know i'm sure. It blew up quite strong here last couple of days. We tried to get to Corsica today as the wind had dropped a bit, but residual swell and 20 knots of wind on the port bow made it quite uncomfortable, especially with 3 yr old on board, so we turned back.

It is the angle of the photos that is confusing you I suspect - having been taken from a beach area.

Try googling "Promenade Maurice Rouvier" and then satellite view, you should see the outcrop just to the south.

Pari is, by coincidence, photgraphed in the new issue of MBY (July 2009, Sq65 front cover) on page 94
