Very impressive ship and photos - thank you for taking the time to post them.

I am guessing that she is a 'new generation' type of platform supply vessel with those high bulwarks all round the cargo deck?

Thanks for the comments Zetorpilot and Bajansailor.

Yes, she is a platform supply ship of Havyard 832 CD, and belongs to Havila Shipping in Norway. It is also the company that owns the design company who designed the ship. She will not carry cars, but the cargo to the various platforms around.

For the time being, they have not received any commission but from the second quarter, she will enter the contract with Statoil a year. Most likely, she will then go between the bases here in Norway, Aberdeen and platforms in the North Sea. Until then she will go in the spot market.

I am so lucky to know the captain on board, then later in the year I'll be with them on trips. Will post the pictures from that trip here later.

Really good photos.- thanks for posting- look forward to your later reports of trips later in the year.
It was the location that caught my eye when scanning the posts, my wife and I did a 12 day trip on mv Lofoten of Hurtigruten line last November, it was great. We left from Bergan and saw a number of supply vessels like the Havila Clipper in the southern ports. We sail our 25ft Finnish built double ender on the Scottish west coast through the summer so the Norway trip was a good end to last seasons sailing!

Hey Double ender.

Thanks for the nice story. You had another great trip with Hurtigruten north. Although I have never traveled with it, but I've been in Northern Norway a few years ago.

Yes, it is often offshore vessel built in Bergen, for they can not lie and wait for assignments at offshore bases.

Yes, to come back with more pictures later, when I've been on tour during the summer.
