M-TECH SX-35 DSC VHF & Garmin Plotter

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the NMEA OUTPUT of this radio is compatible with the NMEA in of a Garmin Plotter (GPSMAP 178C Sounder) The M-Tech manual states that it can output standard ANSI data to either a Printer or a PC using a standard terminal program. Can the Garmin listen to this data properly. Has anyone tried this combo or similar combo?
