We have a Zodiac cadet s 2.85metre. Has the fold flat rollocks, pannelled wood and metal floor and inflateable keel and carries 4 adults. In its 4th season and still in great nick. All folds away into a bag for occasional transporting home etc. Great for the davits and rigid when underway. We get 13 to 15 knots with a 6hp and the boat is stable at that speed. This we can recommend but have only owned this model. Roy

I went for the Avon R280 at £1200 from Ron Hale Marine. I was tempted by the Zodiac Cadet Fastroller Acti-V (there's a 285) which is supposed to be a really good performer and would have save £250 (I think, from memory). In the end, I was persuaded by the durability of hypalon - Avon inflatables seem to go on for ever - and the fact I was able to sell our 6 years old Avon R250 for 50% of its original price new.

However, If I had traditional davits (we have snap davits) I would probably have gone for the Avon RIB lite.

Hi Hadyn, Dingy and rib store is in QAB right on the front after Victoria Wharf. I have Got a Zodiac Fast roller with the inflatable floor and find it very good, directional stability is excellent and it has large tubes for good stability so even after a night on the p-ss you should'nt fall out.
Let me know when you are next down and you can try it if you wish.
