M C Z's

'First Tranche' of MCZs are being prepared by DEFRA for review by the Minister, none of which will affect us. Increasing concern amongst both Conservos and MPs that the whole scheme is just too complex and expensive, and is losing momentum.

Howls from Seahorse Trust this week that we yotties are still wrecking Studland, and they havent seen any seahorses yet, and that in addition to frightening the seahorses we are spreading the Japweed with our anchors! The truth is the japweed has spread a little to the south almost certainly due to the strong easterlies this spring, while other Official Wildlife observers HAVE seen a seahorse there just about on time, though almost everything in nature is running around three weeks late. BORG received a viperous letter from SHT when we pointed all this out to MMO.

So what next? Not a lot until the first tranche has been designated. Then it will all start again.

In the meantime, most of us have gone sailing!
