Lydney

Launched what? :)

There is a slip alongside the upstream side of the harbour breakwater. It's not a public slipway, access is controlled by the yacht club (http://www.lydneyyachtclub.org)

It's rather steep, and can be very muddy but is viable for around two to three hours either side of tide; "viable" has to be read as a term relative to the location however.

Dinghies (typically Wayfarers, but also Drascombe luggers and the like) are launched and recovered from there on a fairly routine basis. And the yacht club cruisers dry out between tides against the leaning posts when needed or tractor their boats in and out. There are no onsite lifting facilities, the club makes communal arrangements to bring tractors / cranes in when required.

I'd contact the club directly if you want to know more. They're a very friendly bunch. Mad as a box of frogs. But friendly ;)

Has anyone ever launched at Lydney or know if it is possible?

Sorry - should have specified. Countess 33 bilge keeler (around 9-10 tonnes).

Try Cardiff Bay YC We've got a "Hoist" that should take your "33".
Clean(ish) water, no mud, little current and a Visitors Pontoon.
