What a shame there were so few boats at the Lydney Festival/Rally/Regatta at the end of June. Where were you all?
Two years ago there were 38 boats in the harbour. Last year I think it was about 25 or 30. This year, with Lydney Yacht Club celebrating their half-centenary, only 9 boats turned up to help them celebrate. That was 8 boats from Portishead Cruising Club and a Drascombe Lugger from Thornbury.
Despite the lack of boats, it was an excellent day with good music on stage and lots of food and drink. Indeed, PCC failed to drink the bar dry on this occasion (due to the bar being well-stocked, rather than any failings on the part of PCC members!).
