Lubrication

I've got Fredriksen cars on my fully battened main. What (if anything) is the best stuff to lubricate them with?

And on a similar subject, whats the best thing for nylon zips (on Sprayhoods)?

Most cars do not require lubrication just a very good wash with fresh water every so often. Thats what I do with mine, which are not Fredrikson, and it works well.

If I have difficulty with zips I use one of the Teflon type sprays (most chandlers sell them), needs to be put on with care to avoid getting it on the fabric; I spray a bit into a pot and then apply with a small water colour brush.
