Hi Folks,
I'm looking for an LPG instantaneous water heater for my bluewater yacht. I don't have room anywhere for a calorifier and was hoping to fit a small unit in the heads. Also needs to be small (350mm Height X 250mm Width ish),

I've seen the Rinnai 58e but I'd prefer a boiler with a balanced flue if possible. Does anyone have any experience of the Rinnai heater? I was also concerened about how I'd teminate the flue at deck level.

Any ideas?
Cheers,

Crispin

I think I have a 58e but haven't installed it yet. Someone on here was running one just using the top cover and no flue but would turn it off when not in use. Effectively, the same as a gas hob.

I have a flue/chimney with a deck collar.

I have one, a larger type, exiting out of my galley "hood" through a deck "mushroom" No pilot light, no batteries, starts itself with water flow, the more modern types are excellent and safe, if installed correctly. If I were to fit another one, without cooker "Hood" I would put it through a chimney/musroom vent on deck. The rinnai are a good one, but I would definitely go for one without pilot light, saves a bunch of gas.

Its a .............one with a rabbit on the front, quite famous one!!! I'll have a look when I get home monday!

I had a bosch for several years on my previous boat and will be fitting a simular one to my new boat. The bosch hod no pilot light and started with batteries. The newer ones use a water turbine to generate the starting spark.
