I have a LMS-330c unit which I inherited with my current boat, and after some work in and around the dash along with replacing a damaged transducer, I now get a ‘GPS Not Responding’ message when I power up the unit. My obvious thoughts were to a loose connection somewhere but I’ve gone through all the connectors and can’t find anything wrong. I’ve read that Lowrance units appear prone to this message and unfortunately this message can also mean a number of different things! I’m at the stage now where I really need to start replacing various components (cables, GPS unit, 330c) else I fear I’m never to resolve the problem. Before I start on a costly exercise of replacing stuff, I wondered if anyone has had any experience with this error and if so, could offer any suggestions?

and after some work in and around the dash !

Think you may have answered your own Q! re-check all connections again would be my next job! Also try unplugging the GPS antenna and check all connections as it sounds as if there is no sat signal getting to the unit.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks. I've checked through all the connections and they all seems good. I know it sound obvious that it's a problem caused by wiring but I can't find it so I'm starting to think it's a coincidence. I could have damaged the cable when I struggled to get the new transducer connector through the dash hole but I just can't find anything wrong. I’m now wondering if the connector on the rear of the unit is faulty. Does anyone know how to do a hard reset and if I do this, will it delete my maps?
