Lowrance Link 8 GPS problems

So I bought a Link 8 VHF/DSC/AIS, got an NMEA 2000 cable,
plugged it into a spare slot on the distribution board and......
' please enter location' comes up, it's not talking to the ZEUS to
get a GPS fix.
Am I doing something silly here?
The VHF works fine but the alarm keeps going off to warn me that
the Link does not know where it is?
Anyone else had this problem?

Have you selected the GPS Source in the radio's setup menu?

No, I will take a look in the set up guide and do so tomorrow,
any other little tips?
