Has anyone used one of these devices?

I'm buying a backup device for my fixed GPS system and in case I ever have to "abandon ship".

Your oppinions would be appreciated!

Bought one at LIBS last year and have so far been very pleased with it. The Nauticpath chart seems pretty good, with a huge area covered on one card. The details is perhaps not as good as Navionics, but on the smaller screen it's pretty academic. I know some reviews have mentioned the slowish re-draw rate, but in use it's never really been a problem.

It certainly seems waterproof as a trip on my flybridge around Dover straights proved last summer! It's quite easy to use and, for the price I got it at (250 inc. Nauticpath card) I really can't complain. It will also take the Navionics from your Raymarine if you want to use it that way.

All in all a good piece of kit as a backup, although I think there would be better options for someone who wanted a handheld as their main piece of GPS/plotter kit.

on my shopping list when visiting Florida later in the month - have both Navionis and Nautipath already so it looks like the no brainer option
