Hello all,
I am looking for a new chartplotter, and I think I have narrowed it down to one of these two.
I like the Lowrance, as if I decide to upgrade my old Radar I can purchase one of their more power efficient 3 or 4g units. But then again I don't know if I will upgrade anytime soon. I also like that the Lowrance can either take C-Map or Navionics charts.
The Standard Horizon looks to be well built, and previous model seems to get good reviews, although I believe SH are moving away from charplotters?
I have a SH2200e DSC AIS VHF, so I guess the SH plotter would interface easier with that? Can you initiate a dsc call from either of these plotters rather that having to type in the MMSI number?
The SH plotter is approx. £80 more expensive. Which would people go for out of the two?
Sorry for the age old question.
