I've just about decided to buy this unit. The cheapest listed around the web in UK is from Adventure Electronics. Has anyone had experience of dealing with them?

Don't know the company you mention, but I bought mine at Land and Water Leisure (www.landandwaterleisure.co.uk). Good guys to deal with and usually one the cheapest on the web.
For your info...I think the plotter is great, but the tidal module has some software bugs that are still not fixed (see my earlier posts). I've given Silva (UK importers) a deadline of the Boat Show to get some response from Lowrance / Navionics or I go public in a bigger way! Still glad I bought it though.
Outstanding GPS unit; despite various "expert advice" on this forum it picks up WAAS corrections, though effectiveness is very variable due to the distance from WAAS satellites - EGNOS are just coming on stream so one should soon be able to have accuracy to 10' (as charts are invariably less accurate than this it's pretty superfluous).
The bus is NMEA 2000, and needs a separate power supply; also nearly all other current equipment will only receive 0183, though there is one output to the older standard.
The XL3 Navionics charts are a considerable improvement on earlier versions, though the unit will not show the 3D of the latest Platinum charts.
I use the unit as the secondary, for close-quarters work, where the size of the screen isn't too much of a disadvantage - the smaller scale unit fed by a Garmin 35 has a B&W screen of 9".
Do pick up the latest firmware which has been available on the net since September it is, I think, v1.0.9.
Certainly good value for money, with a number of interesting advanced features, only drawback is the screen size
Thanks for your replies. The wheelhouse is filling up with kit and I couldn't fit a much bigger screen. I'm pleased to note the confirmation of good definition. Landandwaterleisure were up on the purchase price but when the delivery charge is taken into account they are a little more than a fiver ahead. Given a good recommendation I'll try them.
