Lowrance 3500c flashing screen

Hello this is my second post on the site and following the first one had a successful resolution to a Yanmar engine problem.
I have a Lowrance Globalmap 3500c plotter which is 2 years old, bought at a boat show. At the start of this season the plotter display began to flash continually when it is on the bright screen setting, when I set the light to the lowest setting there is no flashing. I went to the Lowrance website and updated the software but to no avail.
Has anyone resolved a similar problem or can suggest how I might sort this problem out.

My Lowrance 5150 started to do the same thing exactly a week after the 2 year guarantee ran out. I contacted them on-line and and they replied with a returns number I found somewhere on there website that the units are guaranteed for 2 years or for 27 months after manufacture. They said return it with the receipt but I only sent the unit (as the receipt had expired) and after a couple of weeks I received a new unit but with no letter or explanation.

Have you checked the supply voltage? Could it be that your battery needs charging?

Isn't it irritating that posters don't reply to let you know if they fixed the problem or not?
