Lowestoft / Great Yarmouth

Speaking with Nathan yesterday about cheap places to stop I don't know anywhere cheap in Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth.

It cost me £16.80 for the night in RN&SYC for Flipper (27ft) and I didn't get a comfortable night with a constant swell into the marina. Trying to make Nathan's budget (or is it pocket money /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) last is there a better option for his stop over on the way to North Norfolk Coast? Wondered if a local could assist / advise?

After Lowestoft I guess he could wait a tide (in suitable conditions) in Sea Palling for a nap.

I crewed on a boat which spent a few nights alongside in Great Yarmouth las year, wouldn't recommend it.
Lots of commercial stuff on the move, one of them left the boat badly tied up which almost hit the self-steering gear, took the ensign staff off the stern!
The current on the river near the bridge is very fast and wouldn't be a pleasant place for a Corribee, I was on a 32ft'er which was being thrown around....
On the plus side, harbourmaster was friendly and helpful, so in an emergency it's a possibility.
