Hi there.

Planning to take our Jeanneau Prestige 32 up the Thames this year for a week or two, probably as far up as Henley.

Think I may need to lower the radar tripod to clear some of the bridges.

My question is are there any fellow Prestige 32 owners who have lowered the tripod and kept the radar scanner (raymarine) mounted and connected?

The 2 rear legs of the tripod are just screwed to the flybridge deck and the 3rd leg can be split from the flybridge safety rails and im hoping when it is unbolted to just be able to lay the whole lot down on the flybridge rear seat as one lump when passing trough any low bridges and then loosely refit when using the rear seat.

We had a prestige 32 for 3 years.
Is wasn't on a pod it was on a single rader mast that had one bolt and wing nut that went thorough the base where it slotted in, remove bolt and then when needed lift up and out, when finished slot back in.
It was original jeanneau factory for as far as I know.
Sorry I can't help with your situation.

Hi Racingfrank7.

Thanks for your reply.

I think yours must have been an aftermarket fit, my 3 leg tripod fitted to my Prestige is definitely standard factory fit and is the same as fitted to the other Prestige 32's I have seen.

Hi again, just had a look at some pics ours defo factory fit as it was part of the flybridge bars that run all
The way round the flybridge.
Is yours a pre 2005 with the shorter bathing platform and wood dash ? As ours was a 2006 model.

Hi.

Mine is the facelift model with the extended bathing platform and is also a 2006 model.

Mine is exactly like your picture and fixes to the fly bridge handrails as yours did but then has 2 rear legs that bolt down behind the safety handrails.

This is not a great picture and not my boat but is the same arch that I have fitted to mine and that seem to be fitted to the majority of P32's I can see on the web.

Found a better shot of mine.

Yes it looks that way.

Not too fussed about unscrewing it as I can just bolt it down lightly when up the river going slowly it was more the fact that did I have to disconnect the radar wiring to be able to lay the whole lot flat, i suppose the only way to find out the answer is to unbolt it with it connected and have a go. Hopefully I have some slack in the cabling like you did to be able to do this.

I had a 32 some years back and had to remove that entire mount when it was transported by road to clear some bridges. From memory, it just unscrews as it appears and there was on mine sufficient cable slack to just lay it down on a foam bed and strap it there. No harm came to anything and I just screwed it all back on with new sealer around the screw heads. Just perhaps cover the screw holes etc., with some water resistant tape whilst its off.

I have a Prestige 32 with the radar tripod and can confirm that it will lie comfortably on the flybridge if you unscrew the 4 screws holding it on to the flybridge. You will need to reseal the two rear supports when you put it back on as water can easily gain access. Also when you put it back on give it a good test to ensure the screws are holding it in place and that the screw holes have not enlarged. Ours has been off so many times we have had to use bolts via inspection plates under the flybridge to secure it properly.

Thanks for all the replies.

That was the result I was hoping for in just unbolting it and laying it down without disconnecting it. I will have a test run before I get up the Thames to make sure I have enough slack just to make sure.
