Has anybody had the experience of lowering a T36 Radar arch. Mine is the fiber glass arch which is hinged.
If anybody has done one before is it a manual operation, how heavy is it, does it sit straight on to the coach roof.
Any help or advise before attempting this would be gratefully received.

Thanks
Dave

Gas struts are the easy answer, hydraulic / electric the expensive but posh answer. It'll be way heavy without.

I have homemade hydraulics on mine, based on the Bennett hatch lift system. Works superbly :)

Speak to Steve Whybrow (Treasurer at TWYC) who does this sort of thing for a living.

Steve's number: 07747 010161 or 07788 868086

Note he won't answer (he very seldom does!) but leave a message and he will get back to you!!

Mine on my T36 is glass fiber too, but not on hydraulics yet it is an upgrade I want to do for ease. Being on the Thames with some low bridges lowering and raising of the arch is a regular event and can be done single handed. Mine hinges towards the stern and rests on the hatch on the stern deck so I which is not ideal but I put a partially deflated fender under it to protect the hatch
