The tap in my cockpit (highest tap on board) has suddenly lost pressure - water comes out, but not with the usual pressure. All other taps work as usual. There is just the one water pump, which seems to work fine. First thing that spring to mind was a leak in the tubing, but couln't find one where I was able to inspect. Any ideas, as I'm baffled??

Possibly a kink or blockage in the pipe.
Try some back pressure using an external water hose or air pressure and furthest end of feed to that pipe off. With all electrics off of course.

Thanks for your ideas - am I right to think that the problem MUST be something to do with the pipe (blocked or punctured) between the water pump and the tap?

Hi Chris
Why not fit a hose on to another tap on your boat that seems ok and raise the other end of the hose to your cockpit tap height if you get a good flow and presure the pump is ok and your problem is in your cockpit tap or pipework if there is no or little presure look at your pump or at least further back into your system.

Probably the case Chris. Look especially for flatening of the feed pipe when it passes through holes, at bends or under floorboards. May be a blockage but this will be a build up rather than a large single item as most water pumps have fairly good pre-filters. If all else fails, it could also be the tap itself.

could be something stuck in the tap.
