I had a batch of dirty fuel back in Gibraltar. I drained the tank and cleaned it out, then filled with fresh fuel and added something like fuel set (alcohol based). Also changed all filter elements. On our next passage (24hrs motoring) I experienced a loss of power from the engine. We now have poor starting, low power, and a problem achieving over 2500 revs when in gear. Any help much appreciated. <span style="color:black"> </span>

Have you looked for any fixed strainers in the system, many fuel tanks have then at the pick up, also fuel pumps may have one fitted.

Second that. Sounds like fuel starvation caused by a blockage somewhere. Check all fuel lines and possible strainers in tank sometimes fitted in hidden places by numbskull builders Doubt if it is at the fuel pump end but yes, there could well be a gummed up strainer there too. Check tank end first. Fuel is flowing but not clear and free.

Have checked all strainers. I actually removed the strainer in the lift pump. Still no power.

Does it rev ok in neutral ?
If so, check the prop for net or rope, wont cure the poor starting though. That could be anything.
Can you let me know if it revs cleanly in neutral ?
