Is there a boat like that out there?

This is what my swmbo wants !

I curentlly spend nearly every weekend doing things on the boat, I love it !

I can always find something to fix or replace or add?

Is this normal or would there be a lot less work on a modern boat?

I thought that if a boat is plastik with lots of stainless steel then there is not a lot of work, boy was I wrong..

Aha!! - it makes me feel better to find out that there are others out there in the same ship as me.

I too like messin' with boats but only to a point where it isn't consting me an arm and a leg to do so..

Charter boat

In the words of Keith Floyd, discussing a similar issue "You can discuss the merits of various 4 wheel drive machines until the cows come home but, in the end, there is no finer off-road vehicle than a hire car"

Dont do it...the more work the better.
Before we bought our boat three years ago we were heavily into caravanning, had several vans in 25 years all S/H. God knows why, but in 2001 we bought a brand new all singing all dancing van from the Birmingham caravan show.
Result...no jobs to do on it...total and utter boredom for me. Next result, bought a boat, lots of jobs, perhaps too many, but at least there's always something to do to keep the interest there. And that's what it's all about really, a hobby has to have an overriding interest, stuff to investigate and buy, improvements to make, ideas to be tried out, knowledge to be gained. Without it it's not a hobby at all.

Anyone wanna buy an Abbey Aventura? sat on our back drive under the carport..been out for one weekend in two years.

I did once work out the ideal person for working on boats, but despite years of searching I still have not found the acrobatic, double jointed, oil drinking - pigmy with a gold card in each of his (or Her) six hands I am looking to adopt!

Ah well, looks like overalls on again this weekend.
