I was hurtling past Suffolk Yacht Harbour on the Orwell yesterday when out from that marina came a lovely new yacht with the lines of a classic racing boat from the Twenties.

She was called Ghost and was about 40ft long, with wonderful all timber topsides and a huge Bermudian rig.

As she went whistling by I only had a few seconds to admire her but she certainly was eye catching. She might even have had a wooden hull.

Anyone know anything about her?

Stone the crows..I've just seen the price. A lottery jackpot job. Just got time to nip out to buy a quid's worth of ticket.

A magnificent vessel at an equally magnificent price...and several jackpots for all the opt extras.

Must get my eyes tested. The Spirit yacht which I thought was about 40ft was in fact 70ft.

Here's a link to it.

I am sure she would make a very nice story for Yachting Monthly. The news section of Spirit's website includes a few details about Ghost and how she was launched on June 2, but I would certainly like to read more and see a few nice pictures.

Is an article planned?

Don't panic there have been two lurking around Levington, a "small" one and the 70ft one so you may well have seen the smaller of the two out sailing. Although I have to say the lines of the larger one are so good it actually looks smaller than it is.
