Hi All,
Apologies if this post is pretty general but any help to get me on the right track would be appreciated.
Ive a '68 Aft Cockpit Freeman 30 (GRP Hull, Wood Deck/Superstructure) and last year after inspecting a 'small' patch of dry rot ended up having to replace virtually ALL topsides etc except the deck itself.
This has turned into a virtually complete restoration with the entire interior being stripped etc.
I dont suppose anyone has a similar boat i could view their interior / wheelhouse to refresh my memory on how things are assembled?
Also is the good old fashioned approach of about 7 coats of varnish on the Exterior the best option or for a hardy (but slightly less pretty) finish could i use a woodstain which is thicker and seems lower maintenance?
Any info (and sympathy
) would be appreciated to get me on track.
thanks,
Nick
