During passage yesterday the SOG disappeared from the 1515 Simrad instrument display it still appears on the Cr40 chartplotter. We may have hit a wrong button when re callibrating the Boat speed. If anyone has an idea as to what can have happened or what we can do to correct this, it will be much appreciated.
Richard.

First check the wiring, white and brown wires out of the CR40 (NMEA1 or 2), these should connect to the NMEA socket on the back of an IS15 instrument.

Go into the deep calibration (press and hold left key until "general" let go then press again for a couple of seconds until display changes, then step thru with left key) on the IS15 the CR40 cnnects to and check that the NMEA port is set to IN.

If still no go, put a multimeter across the white and brown wires with the IS15 disconnected and see if you get a pulsing voltage coming from the CR40. This proves the data coming out.

If still no go and you have another IS15 unit then move the lead across and check NMEA in again.

It does not matter which IS15 NMEA port you connect to as all units on the bus will get the data.

PM if still lost.
