I was wondering whether a Spade anchor would be more suitable for rocky reefs. I'm sure I heard that they are easier to stow.

No rock is safe with any anchor. If you think through the physics of it you can see that there is no guarantee how the anchor will set - it might catch the very edge of a rock and withstand full reverse power, then give way a minute or two later after the anchor has jumped out. Or you have the billiard table scenario, and nothing will hold on that other than a heavy weight.

I can't think why a Spade should be any better than any other from that point of view but they stow much more easily than Rocna or Bugel as they don't have that huge roll bar.
