Login: when you click on log in on the top nav bar of the forums you should be presented by a user name and password window page. Fill in your details there and proceed. As you've managed to post this message you must already be logged in okay, in which case you should be seeing 'logout' as the alternative option.

Reminder: one easy way of identifying your posts is to click on the 'finger with knot' symbol at the foot of the message box (when viewing after posting). That will add the thread to your list of reminders. You can view these via User Options. otherwise, simply use the search tool and put your subject line in. All threads are in the database forever, so even if they disappear off the first page on the index they can be viewed at a later date.

Quite like Yoghurt but not keen on the Guardian unless you put a bit of salt & vinegar on it.

Alot of the threads are interesting and along with some humour on the way there is much useful advice from fellow posters, even some abuse!

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say, so will wait with baited breath for your extravaganzas!

Welcome back, you timed the weather perfectly!

When you first go into a forum there is a search function. Type in your "handle" and I imagine it will list all your posts.

Potentially.

Read the Guardian, can't stand yoghurt.
Just as a passing comment - posted on 'the other site' (which I've never viewed as a rival to this, simply more time consuming) a perfectly inoccuous comment about the usual Bav/Jen/Ben argument. O.K. it was a tad critical, but I thought Ken & co's backs were broad enough ....... my posting hasn't appeared!

Surely censorship can't be alive and well?

Think I'll stick to what I know and continue on this forum, where at least I feel welcome.

Confusion

Yes, the forum seems to have confused issues with RTR, Motor Chat and anything else more suitable for other forum headings. Seems most users just log on to any of the forums and talk about anything. What has happened to scuttlebutt? I wonder this also. Any answers on that forum have to be taken with a grain of salt, a sense of humour and be aware of a bit of good natured leg pulling. Well that is how I treat it and send answers likewise. Take matters on board at your own peril.

I do miss some of the good natured and possibly pointless bantering that used to be on scuttlebutt, after all that is what "scuttlebutt" means, however we seem to be under a new regeme now, the world has turned a few times and big brother is more active.

Yours aye,
Jolly Jack Tar [I seem to be stuck with this 'nom-de-mariner' as the system apparently will not allow me to change it without a statuatory declaration and a witnessed letter by the Admiral of the Fleet or such like]

OK - I'll respond - you seem to have a trembling lip because you've been ignored
I object to being referred to as boring. I'm not.
Sod off back to the med.
Hows that?

Re: Confusion

You want a change? It's possible but the old ID needs to ceremoniously walk the plank before we can issue a new name against your e-mail address...name the time and ship and we'll get all scuttlebutters lined up on the quarterdeck for the event!

Re: Confusion

Thats fine, possibly we could chat about your spellings and punctuation, use of upper and lower-case etc - I can only think its a Mediterranean influence but nothing we couldn't put right.
