Lorient

Looking for a berth in South Brittany. Have my name on several waiting lists. Last year had offer from Lorient but read in YM that the marina was overgrown with weed and very smelly. Any body been there this season to give an update?

Chris - if you're talking about the marina right in the town centre then yes I would avoid it. I was there in August and didn't like it much. There are a couple of other marinas both on the left and the right as you enter Lorient harbour - can't remember the names right now but the one on the left was pretty good. Its about 15 minutes from the centre of Lorient.

I was there last year in the Summer, good marina- It could be a bit exposed there - I wonder what it was like in the Storm last week? Met someone who was in the Marina in the centre during the storm, and it was dead safe there, they had heard that Kerneval had had some problems.
