Hi
I know that anodes working loose on Volvo Saildrives is a fairly common problem. I presume the securing machine screws loosen because of vibration ?
I have done a forum search and helicoil inserts have been suggested as a solution to cure the worn/loose internal threads on the Saildrive.
At the beginning of each season my anode securing screws tighten very satisfactorily but on lift out tha anode is always loose. So is there no simpler solution ?
Has anyone solved the problem using some type of locking/vibration washers or some type of loctite compound ?

The problem is often due to depletion of the anode leaving the screws loose. All you can do is use liberal amounts of loctite on the threads and check each year.

There's different types of loctite: use the hydraulic one, it doesn't dissolve in water. Which helps.

Mine came loose it seemed as a result of anode depletion under the bolt that holds it, so when I put a new one on I used epoxy in the thread hole so this bit would have no salt water contact, making sure there was good electrical connectivity to the leg still....and it never came loose, a bit of heat on the bolt and it will come out.

there is a thread lock liquid sealant from Comma and Loctite working very fine on this, it is originaly used to fix brake calipers on cars when bake pads are changed so a lot of vibrition resistancy

I loose my prop because of bl...y screws last year. Screw entered between prop and body of saildrive and inside part of prop broke. I put some Loctite and I will see this year.
