Does anyone know a carrier who will transport a 2.3m spinnaker pole form the Moray Firth to Cambridge. It only weighs 3Kg! Almost all the carriers seem to resctrict parcel length to 1.5m....
One of my daughter's friends sold a very long surfboard on eBay and then couldn't find anyone to act as courier! Luckily for her, I had a small mail order business at the time and my courier was happy to to take it for a very reasonable cost (around £25). I was using ANC so you could try contacting them - they have a depot in Inverness. ANC are a franchise which may make them a bit more flexible.
The problem with long items is that they can't fit them into their standard sized crates which get loaded onto the long distance vehicles between the depots.
I've always found city link helpful, even if people have made a few comment about them in the past they deal with the general public and non account holders.
try www.interparcel.co.uk, we use them for shipping all over the world, they use whoever is the cheapest, (often UPS or DHL) on line booking and tracking, highly recomended.
