Haven't noticed much coverage of this - but there is an Amber wind warning from the met office. Windfinder is also forecasting some rather strong gusts;

Apparently we're in for 70+ mph gusts and snow tonight and tomorrow.
Delightful!

Mind you, I recorded 96.9mph last week, so they may be correct.

Well, that was/is some night. Very strong winds from about 02:00 onwards.

Just recorded a gust of WAIT FOR IT ........................ 108 miles per hour!

Gruinard Bay, about 100 feet above sea level, about 200 yards from the water, but the wind coming from the west, so mostly over the hill and not over the water.

I have reported it to the BBC (via their rather awkward web-site as can't find a telephone number!!)

My boat is "out-of-the-water" - or was! I might be back in it again............ She's on a huge trailer (ex lorry chassis) and propped with Acro props. West wind should be blowing aft to foarrad. Fingers crossed.
