I started 8hrs late, and I've made up 600 places since then.

Was 3rd last in the YBW leaderboard, now I've dragged myself upto 18th position, having just passed BoobyTrapper, and shortly about to pass Victorious!!

Watchout everybody, this mobo'er is cruising!!!

Also the Chat feature on the SOL is great, was on there last night with good chat from others here and abroad, come on and give us your chat.

Cheers

Al.

Don't take too much notice of the leader boards. They can be very misleading. For example the top SOL seed is currently 444th but in reality he may well be in the top ten. A lot of the other top players are well over 300.

Position is everything.

People joining on the start line are in front of us so we just keep going backwards. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

There are 3 boats dead ahead of me by 2 - 3 hours. Looking at their tracks in the old client, all they have done is set a compass course from the start line and buggered off.

I don't know why I bother. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I also used the old client to check courses and can only hope that they are all asleep and end up in Antarctica or is that a bit cruel?

They don't deserve any better! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

At least we are entering into the spirit of the game.

I notice that not only are we well ahead of the real boats, they are only doing about 8 kts compared to the the 20+ that we are doing. Either we are better sailors or the actual weather is totally different to that in both of the games.

Oh dear. Mrs Fireball is in front of Mr Fireball. Come on Mr F. Our pride is at stake.

You may have to explain to Mrs F, that this is an endurance event, and that a few quick spurts, and a series of extended periods of ecstasy will be more fulfilling in the long run, than an immediate result.
