I would like to be a crew member on the Arc rally.I have sailing experiance on yatchs.The past two years i've covered over a thousand miles at sea,trips across the english channel,delivering yatchs fron mainland Spain to Majorca,Malta to Create,Turkey to cyprus,cyprus to Turkey.l also have futher trips planned in the early part of this year.l have completed RYA Day skipper & intened to take a radio course & yatch master this year.l have a mechanichal background & enjoy scuba diving.l am planning a three month sabbatical & would like to make the most of this once in a life time oppertunaty. brook01@btopenworld.com

Alan, I sailed in the first ARC twenty years ago, and it was excellent!
You mention all your experience and abilities - all very useful for sure, however I think that for a transatlantic crossing the most important ability / talent must be to simply get along with your shipmates!
This includes (ideally) being a non-smoker, always be keen and cheerful, even when woken for your watch at 0200 hrs, a dab hand in the galley when it comes to doing your share of the cooking (and even more importantly, the washing-up) - and if you can also have a go at fixing things, and pay your way for reasonable daily expenses for food, then you will be a crew member-in-a-million, and much in demand, for sure!
