Hi there!

I'm looking for work in Estepona (Costa del Sol) or the immediate area. Doesn't have to be boat based but would be far better if it is as looking forwards to the new season!

I'm female, 22, based in Estepona and eager to work and earn in the sun!

Would love to become a crew member and work with boats as I love sailing. Learning Spanish at the moment but only at begginners level so far. Available as soon as required.

Other than that, if anyone knows of any other work in Estepona or fairly close, then I'd love to hear from you! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon with ideas!

Have you considered Porto Banus (Marbella) or is that too far? It's larger and more prosperous than Estepona, with a fair number of large vessels. I was there last year on business but I nosed around the local marinas quite a bit. It had more atmosphere too - not quite as much as St Tropez - but was quite vibrant.

No contacts though I'm afraid.

Have you considered telemarketing? You might well be able to get a job with a property company or estate agency making appointments for potential customers and following up leads. Not cold calling. I know of at least one large company that was looking for intelligent people to do this job. Shift work and therefore some unsociable hours, but the pay can be quite good.

If you PM me I'll make a suggestion of a company in San Pedro which is an easy bus ride from Estepona - but no guarantees that there's still jobs there, you understand. Just a thought . . .

Cannot help you on the work question but would be interested to learn how you find living on the Colvic Countess. Is it the 28ft or 33ft version and how much does it cost to moor at Estepona? Also what size engine is it? I came in to Estapona marina last year and thought it one of the best ports on that coastline. Good luck with you quest for work. Paul

Well we liked Estepona. It is a bit lively at night, just make sure of what berth you're allocated, then its perfectly ok. The capitania staff are very helpful. Estepona village is good, and has a good bus connection too.

Re: NOT marbella

The original question related to finding work on or connected with boats. My suggestion was based on the fact that Porto Banus is larger and more prosperous and within reasonable distance of Estepona. It is ringed with restaurants, has a good beach and a big tourist influx - in short - the type of place where employment may be found relatively easily - you know - like someone who lives in Putney might work in The West End of London or even Soho!

By the way - are the only women who smile at you prostitutes? Says more about you than them I suggest :)
