Hi,

Does anyone have either a 2006ish Fairline Phantom 46 or Fairline Phantom 50 and is willing to share actual fuel consumption data?

I am looking around 2005/2006 models where the Phantom 46 would have Volvo Penta D9 500hp engines and the Phantom 50 would have Volvo Penta D12 675hp engines.

Any feedback is much appreciated :-)

Thanks!

About the same as your azimuts

No boat bears basic physics and the differences will be marginal in the grand scheme of things.
The 50s will use more than the 46s

Porto is right in your other thread - you are looking at around 0.75mpg on the plane, dropping to probably 0.6mpg flat out

There seem lots of fuel usage threads at the moment.

As others have said it takes a certain amount of power to move a boat and that turns into fuel consumption. There will be differences between boats and engines but the odds of them being material are low.

As a rule a planning boat will do 250 miles on a tank. This is pretty consistent across all the boats I’d have owned. As such the size of the tank gives you a good idea of running costs. You will be filling it every 250 or so

250 miles unless you belt about like a lunatic or have a specific long distance trip in mind probably gives you 12 -15 or so hours of use with a mix of fast/ slow and generator usage.

My 2006 P46 with D9/500's, for sale by the way! has a Volvo EVC-B LED Display digital engine monitoring unit, does 2300 rpm 24kts 6.4 ltrs/per mile, 1200 rpm 9.5kts 3.4 ltrs/per mile. A 703 nm cruise in 2016 shows average speed 12.10 kts, varied between 9.5 kts and 24 kts average consumption was 4.3 ltrs/per mile.
Hope this helps.
