Looking for potential new home on the East Coast

what about a mooring?

If it's a marina you want then I'll throw in my two penn'th for Ipswich - Neptune, Haven or Foxes.

If you'd consider a mooring - check out www.marconi-sc.org.uk (I should declare an interest at this point: I'm the commodore). We're always keen to attract new members

We're on the River Deben, moored close to the Ramsholt Arms. I love the River Deben it's a beautiful place to be, known as the jewel of Suffolk. There's plenty of interesting sailing close by. The Orwell particularly offers much for the sailor. If you're looking for a marina I would go for Ipswich Haven, rather than Neptune. There's also Levington and Royal Harwich, but these had a waiting list for the marinas last time we looked. Oh and there's also Fox's marina. There are many swing moorings up and down the Orwell. The good thing about the Orwell is that you are not constrained by the tide. There is a bar to get over into the Deben, which can be tricky and you do have to watch the tide. The Ramsholt Arms serves good food, which you never have to wait long for.
